For many years, our society has struggled with drug abuse. People from all walks of life have been affected, and the numbers continue to rise. A large number of teenagers and adults are becoming addicted to alcohol and drugs. Addiction begins with infrequent use, and people begin by saying, "We just wanted to try it" or "it's just a one-time thing." It then becomes a habit in which they claim to know what they are doing and to be in control. However, this pernicious habit quickly spreads and affects every aspect of their lives.
What has been done cannot be reversed. So, rather than blaming the addict for his or her illness (yes, drug addiction is an illness), families should concentrate on damage control.
We differ from other Rehabilitation Centres in Sonipat in that we emphasize holistic healing with minimal medical intervention. They use a comprehensive 12-step program pioneered by Alcoholics Anonymous. Our 12-Step program adds a spiritual dimension to this journey. Counselors are very cooperative and understanding of the members' difficulties. The goal here is not simply to assist them in quitting. Its purpose is to assist them in detoxifying their bodies and souls.
Yoga and meditation classes are held on a regular basis at our rehabilitation centre in Sonepat. Members can discuss and share their feelings in daily thought sessions, which are followed by games and entertainment activities. Members are also taken on supervised outings, allowing them to maintain contact with the outside world.
